The SkillsUSA Advantage

SkillsUSA is a national organization that serves more than 300,000 students and instructors annually. More than 1,000 business, industry and labor sponsors actively support SkillsUSA at the national level through financial aid, in-kind contributions and involvement of their people in SkillsUSA activities.

Membership in SkillsUSA affords students the opportunity to demonstrate occupational and leadership skills by competing in state and national competitions. SkillsUSA State competitions are held annually in the spring and the national competitions are held in June. At the state level, approximately 500 students compete in 90+ occupational and leadership contests.

WGTC SkillsUSA conducts business using the democratic process. The organization hosts regular monthly meetings using the Tandberg Videoconference system. Students can attend monthly meetings by visiting the Tandberg Meeting Room on the campus of their convenience. Membership must be established by January of each year in order to compete in the annual local, state and national SkillsUSA Championship. Annual membership dues are $15 and can be paid by cash or check to a cashier on any campus. For more information on SkillsUSA, email SkillsUSA@westgatech.edu.

Collaborations with other Student Organizations
