Synchronous courses

These live online courses require students and instructors to meet online at the same time via a collaboration tool like Blackboard Collaborate to participate in class activities, such as lectures, presentations, discussions, and group collaboration. On your student schedule, these courses will list a specific day and time to meet online.

Asynchronous courses

These courses provide flexibility in scheduling and can be taken nearly anywhere computer technology and Internet access is available. For those with a busy schedule, course work can be completed almost any time, night or day within the parameters and deadlines of work submission. On your student schedule, these courses will list “TBA” in the time area.
